George Polya established a method for solving problems:

• Understanding the problem (Recognizing what is asked for).

• Devising a plan (Responding to what is asked for). 

• Carrying out the plan (Developing the result of the response).

• Looking back (Checking. What does the result tell me?).

This is one of the cornerstones of how many countries teach how we solve problems.

V - Vchoose a strategy/method to solve the problem

K – Kcheck your answer by working backwards
